NAHIDE'S SONG

The documentary of Nahide's Song is a story about an Armenian woman who stayed with Turkish family at the time of migration. And she adapted herself to Turkish family. She married with a Turkish man as his second wife. She did not have any children so she behave the son of her sister-in-law's son as his own son. It is documentary about personal memories.

History can be occured with memories and official documents, all togetHer. However, for some topics, there is not much more documents at the histoy archieves. For example, there is not many documents about Armenian genocide. In national history, we are learning that there is not any Armenian Genocide. In historical sources, it says that “There was a war at that time so many Turkish and Armenian people died. It is not genocide.” however, when we listen the personal memories of people, we realise that Armenian people was not behaved in a good way as it is seen in the historical sources which are limited.

According to Meltem Ahıska's article, in history, some events are covered. It can be happened with making the documents to disappear. In the history archieves many documents have gone disseappered to make some historical events as a secret. It has done not to seem as having a bad and unhonorable history to the other countries.

In the documentary, people says that Armenian people had many difficulties. They had left their family, children and properties. Especially, people says about the left people as Nahide and her difficulties. She always sang a song that is very sad and it as about having no home and no people. She had a family in Turkey, as being a second wife of an old man. She was not seem very lonely however it can not be as the same as her real family. People have memories as a history however they can not be objective. They are saying some real events and then they realize that the known history and taught history can not match with their memories. Thus, they feel that they should change their sayings with their logic. Sometimes, they realize this and try to say the known history and sometimes they say the personal realities. History in Turkey can not be full proved.
